Miss Catherine Quail
Head Teacher

We have entered very challenging times and our lives are changing daily due to Coronavirus. Here in Our Lady and St. Anne's we are working hard to keep in touch with the children every day to try and ensure that they have some sense of normality and ease their anxieties.

All the staff are using Google Classrooms, Seesaw and Twitter to keep in touch with the children and their families. Miss Quail, Mrs Carroll and Miss Parker are also able to access these online platforms for all pupils and support the children and adults as we embrace digital technology as a means of supporting home schooling. Every morning each class will receive a welcome message and online activities on Google Classrooms and Seesaw. Children are encouraged to share their work through uploading pictures and documents. We have already been overwhlemed with the positive engagment of the children. They are doing so well. Througout the day, the staff will be checking in with pupils, answering questions and encouraging them.

Alongside this, there will be a weekly Head Teacher's Challenge - this will vary every week but will usually be something a little bit different and fun. It is important that the children enjoy this time at home with you and feel safe and loved. This will be shared on Twitter as well as on Google Classrooms.

Remember, we are not asking our parents to be teachers, we are simply providing activities and structure to support you during these difficult times. Encourage the children to keep to a school routine, get up at a good time, eat breakfast, complete work / activities, break - playtime etc. Remember that chores and helping out are also very important - if they were at school they would have responsibilities and jobs - this shouldn't change.

Twitter and the school app will be used to communicate information and messages as and when they unfold. It is important that you access both of these channels if you haven't already done so. Find us on Twitter @ OlsaPrimary. Download School App for Parents and search for Our Lady and St. Anne's.

Most importantly of all - stay safe, look after each other and stay inside.

Take care.

Our Lady and St. Anne's Primary School closed on Friday 20th March 2020 in line with Government Guidelines related to Coronavirus. If you are a Category 1 Key Worker and require childcare, the nearest Hub is Woodside Primary. This can only be accessed through SLC. For more information, please visit

All future events have, understandably, been cancelled. We will keep you up to date as and when the situation changes.

Please keep in touch through Twitter, Seesaw and the school app for day to day communications.

We are all learning lots as we go but, together, we will come out the other side of this stronger and closer.

I am so proud of our Our Lady and St. Anne's family - thank you.
